Samuel's 4th Birthday!

My sweet, joyful boy turned 4 yesterday!  We had a fishy party for him and is was so much fun!  One day I asked him what kind of party he wanted, he looked over at the box of gold fish crackers and said "A fishy party".  I said are you sure and he kept insisting on a fishy party so I looked online and found some ideas and copied them!
Here's the ocean scape card board cut out Tom made!  The kids loved it!

we had the kids color a fish and then played pin the fish on the fish tank
And here's the fishy cake!  The sand is grahm cracker crumbs, the seaweed is a fruit roll up and I used sweedish fish candies and fruit snacks for the fish.
Here's the birthday boy!

It was a great day, we made him pancakes and eggs and gave him breakfast in bed, opened presents and then did this party for him.  He was soooo blessed and still has a cheesy grin on his face.  I so enjoy blessing my children!  So thankful for this little guy, he has brought so much joy and laughter into my life.  Thought some of you out of staters might enjoy this post, love you!

For Today!

I saw this outline from my friend Jenn's blog www.makmineblue.blogspot.com
I thought is was creative so I copied and added my stuff in!

FOR TODAY...

Outside my window...   It is a beautiful day, cold but the sun is shining!  Leaves are falling and the wind is blowing...We have a friends car I can see outside my window, so thankful for friends that let us borrow a car while ours is broken.

I am thinking...  About what else I need to finish cooking before dinner.

I am thankful for... My Hubby who walks in joy and humility.  Who serves and loves his family and others so well!  I am thankful to have Him and my little ones to celebrate with today!  I'm thankful for friends who call and check on us and pray with us when we are having a rough time.  I'm thankful for our families in Seattle and that they care enough about us to send packages with love.  I'm thankful to be saved and to be walking with the Lord.  I'm thankful to be living the dream I always hoped for, being a wife and Mom!  (of course it looks different but it is a blessing)

From the learning rooms... Samuel is learning his letters and tracing them a lot better now.  He loves to count too.  He is hungry to learn.  Trinity is learning how to be a Mommy, she walks around with her babies and her purse-so cute!  She is learning her ABC's too.  Esther is talking more and asks "read a boot" which means read a book.  She use to not be interested in books so this makes me happy that she likes them now.  And of course she snuggles with me when I read to her.

From the kitchen... I'm making my first Turkey breast in the crock pot, making home made stuffing, home made rolls, my first apple pie(I had some already!), garlic mash potatoes, and sweet potato casserole.  Missing my favorite green bean casserole because I forgot to buy green beans and now the store is closed, oops.

I am wearing...  Blouse and jeans.  My usual is T-shirt and jeans thought I would dress a little nicer for my Hubby since it is a holiday.

In Pregnancy news...  I'm probably only 3 weeks a long but so excited!  That is the talk around the house.  Samuel says I need to eat for the baby and that we are going to have the baby in Bethlehem.  Trinity prays for the baby her prayer is "Jesus help the baby Amen", Esther pats my belly and say "be be".  Thinking it might be a long 9 months for them to have to wait, but it is sweet to see them so excited!

I am creating... Lots of goodies for Samuel's fishy party on Saturday, super excited!

I am going... to have a second cup of coffee soon, exhausted these days!
I am reading... "Raising kids who hunger for God" by Benny and Sheree Phillips.  I need all the wisdom I can get!

I am hoping... it snows soon, I figure if it is going to be this cold it might as well snow.
I am hearing... kids squealing in there beds.
Around the house... It is clean for now only because it is nap time!
One of my favorite things...Date nights, I love one on one time with my Hubby!
A few plans for the rest of the week:  Turkey dinner tonight, Samuel's party Saturday, dear friends are in town for a visit this weekend, towing the car on Monday and hopefully it will be fixed on Tuesday.

Ending with a Picture...

Thankful for you all, have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Yes it is true!

Just had to blog and say yes it is true we are pregnant again!  YAY!  We are soooooo excited!  As many of you know our children are pretty close together.  Samuel and Trinity are 16 months apart and Trinity and Esther are 13 months apart.  So after Esther I asked the Lord if I could take a longer break.  I wanted Esther to be at least 12 months and I wanted to loose all my weight I had gained from each pregnancy.  Esther is 18 months and a week ago I lost all my weight.  God is funny that way!  I've been having the desire for a new baby for about 4 months now so I knew it probably would be soon because each time I have a desire then soon after I get pregnant!  Also Samuel has been talking a lot about having a new baby and saying "it is time Momma, it has been too long".  So we've been telling him to pray and ask God for a baby, so this is the fruit of Samuel's prayers!

We took four tests just to be sure! (love those dollar store tests!)  We gathered the kids in our little classroom and told them the exciting news.  Samuel jumped up for joy he was so excited!  Trinity and Esther not so sure if they understand, they kept looking for the baby.  Tom drew a picture on our white board of Momma and a baby in Momma's belly and then a picture of our family, what it looks like now and then when the baby comes what it is going to look like.  They loved it!  They keep coming to my belly and saying I love you baby, and they pray for the baby.  I'm just so thankful!  It is for sure a new season for us!  I love how much joy a new life brings!

So on a practical side...we would love you to pray for us!  We are in need of a new house, this one is too small!  We are also in need of a second vehicle, mini-van or suburban!  Right now all 5 of us are packed into our Toyota Camry.  We also will need new beds for all the little ones!  Really appreciate your prayers and if you would like to give in any way click the donate button on our site!  Be blessed today!

Our life

Highlights of our life these days!  I lost 10lbs!  I wasn't going to mention that I was trying to loose weight to any one but now I am pretty proud of myself.  Feels good to be back to the same weight that I was when we got married.  I finally got some motivation and started Weight Watchers again.  It has taught me how to eat healthy, portion control and to not eat emotionally but to have self control.  It has been great for our family too, the kids see me eating carrots and want to join me rather than a cookie!  Tom has joined me since he saw that is works.  It has been a lot of fun planning meals together and tracking our points etc.  So now I just need to start exercising again, the belly is hard to get rid of after 3 kids.

The kids are doing great as usual!  I love all there little personalities.  I do have to say that they are all pretty hilarious, a lot like Daddy!  Samuel is talking a lot about God these days, he loves to pray, and he is loving school too!  We have a little classroom set up, just got a white board and it has been a lot of fun teaching them!

Trinity is quite a character.  She loves to dress up in Samuel's Thomas the tank engine pajamas and puts on a funny hat.  She enjoys helping me with anything I am doing, she says "Momma I help".  So I'm learning how to include her in all my tasks of cooking and cleaning.

Esther is super joyful, creative and funny.  She is thoughtful and sweet, I see her bringing her brother or sister there sippy cup or blanket just to be nice.  She loves to dance and she gives good hugs and kisses.

Tom is such a blessing, has been helping out around the house and recently fixed our car!  PTL!  I've had some rough days recently and he cam home and prayed for me and spoke life and truth into me.  So thankful for him in my life!  Ok getting all sappy and teary eyed now!  Just needed to babble a little today, hope you all have a blessed day!

God cares about the little things!

I'm realizing this past week that God cares about the little things in life. That He longs to speak to us in the mundane of life and that He longs for relationship. This week I was driving with the kids to Chick-fil-a, I'm used to Tom driving so I couldn't remember how to get there from the store we were at. So I say "Lord please just show me how to get there" then Samuel says "Momma Jesus says yes He's going to show you" so I'm thinking wow ok. I keep driving still not seeing it thinking I went too far. Then I say "should I turn here or go straight ahh God show me" Samuel says again "Momma Jesus says yes He's going to show you" so I felt like I was suppose to go straight and there it was! I said "Samuel your right Jesus showed us" and he says "I told you Momma Jesus said yes." That was so good for my heart realizing that God hears the little cries of my heart, that He is listening and He will answer and show me the way to go.

Recently I've started homeschooling with Samuel and Trinity. I have been waking up before them each morning and I ask God what to do today and He shows me. Some days I'm not sure if I heard right and I second guess myself. So we've been doing a letter each week. We were on C and hadn't stayed on it for quite a week yet but yesterday I felt like we were suppose to do the letter D. So we did our usual sing ABC's, do flashcards, then write the letter out then we did a craft and made a duck for D. Then Tom came home and we said oh D for Daddy. Tom had a band aid on his finger and it had Dinoco from the cars movie, Samuel noticed that right away, so we said oh D for Dinoco! Then we had a doctor's appointment and of course realized D for doctor. It sounds little but it made me so happy that God cared about the lesson plan for the day and made everything about the letter D!

I pray that God will speak to you today and show you that He cares about the little things in your life! Lord pour out your spirit on my friends, shower them with your loving kindness today. Make yourself real to them today in Jesus name! Amen!

Be blessed today!

Little update

Hello again! It has been a while since I blogged, our computer has been down for 3 months now so haven't been able to keep up with blogging. We have been blessed with borrowing a friends computer for a week so I thought I would take this chance to update ya'll! Things are going well here in KC. We have been here for a little over 10 months now and still feel like we aren't totally settled yet but I hear it takes about a year until you feel completely settled. Our lease is up in a couple months and we will be looking for a new home. Need a little bit more space and a place with a dishwasher would be nice too!

Tom's been plugging away in the Media department at IHOP and he is on a prophesy team which he really enjoys! I recently started home school with Samuel and Trinity. It doesn't really feel like school since they are so young but I block out about 30 min to an hour and we do crafts or ABC's, numbers, shapes, the bible etc. I didn't think it would be much fun but now that we started I love it! We made one room into a school room with a table and chairs and a desk for me. Now we just have to decorate the walls, I'm really excited about this! I pray every morning and ask God what He wants me to teach them and He shows me and we do it. I think that is why it is working so well. Samuel is catching on so fast and really enjoys it.

Well there is much more I would love to share but the little ones are waking up, so have to run. Was reading this scripture today: Be Anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Bless you, Hilary

Wife, Mom and Lover of God!

This last month I went to a Mom's night where an amazing lady spoke on being a wife, Mom and most of all being a lover of God. That was a life changing moment for me. Ever since I started having babies I have had a different walk with the Lord, it has still been amazing but so different than when I was single. She reminded us that even though we are a wife and Mom, that doesn't change that we are a lover of God. That before we were married and had children we were a L.O.G first(he he I loved it when she said that, LOG, lover of God). So I've been on this journey of seeking Him and singing praises to Him in the midst of housework and changing diapers, and it has been awakening my heart. I have been realizing that the more I love God and seek His face it causes me to love my husband better my children better and my family and friends better. It also makes me a lot more fun to be around, which is a bonus. So I am so thankful my eyes have been opened, to know that I don't have to put my relationship with God on hold just because I'm a mom is really exciting! The other awesome thing was that she said now that her boys are in their 20's she looks back at the time when they were little ones and realizes that that time is when she got oil with the Lord and it was a sweet time for her. So I am excited and living expectant now, knowing that I can get oil during this sweet season of my life!

I am also realizing also that it is o.k. to glean from others. I have been wanting to know how to be a Proverbs 31 woman. How to clean, cook, and take care of my home well. So I've been learning from others. I have been learning how to clean and how to organize my life from www.flylady.net This site has been so helpful, she uses little tips each day to make the house run smoothly and not be so messy. I'm still learning but enjoying having a cleaner home. Also have been learning from my friend Racquel, how to shop and save by using coupons. She has a lot of wisdom and I enjoy reading her blog. www.shoppingforwoolandflax.blogspot.com I am still a little bit nervous and overwhelmed at this coupon thing but am determined to save money for our family.

Hope this helps some of ya, have a blessed day!

Choosing life, joy and thankfulness!

My heart feels alive today! Realizing it is something I have to choose each day is...life and life abundantly, I have to choose joy, and I have to choose thankfulness. This isn't always easy for me, I have always struggled with being negative and kind a down, still asking the Lord where this all stems from. I've received a lot of break through in this area in the last months with praying and asking the Lord to help me in this area and having my husband and others stand in agreement with me in prayer and calling me on it when I start speaking negative etc. So I've been trying to not focus on everything that sucks or that is hard in my life but focus on all the blessing the Lord has given me in the natural and spiritual, when I want to say how hard something is instead finding something good about that situation.

Here's some verses to ponder...
Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

I pray the Lord will encounter you all with his love and joy today! Be blessed today!

Hi

Well Hello! Sorry it has been so long, haven't been keeping up with the blogging much these days. Just thought I'd say a quick hi, the kids are starting to wake up from their naps. The girls share a room and it so sweet when the wake up the talk and giggle, it makes my heart happy! Samuel has a big boy bed now and he loves it and plays in his room as well, thank you Lord! Things are going well, getting into a routine here. Spring has arrived so that sure helps. We can go for walks, go to the park, let the kids run outside, what a blessing! Trinity turned 2 this week, and Esther will be one next month, and no we are not pregnant yet. Yes we still want a lot of children! It has been kind of nice for my body to have a little break and I'm sure it's been nice for Tom too(I'm a little emotional, to say the least, when I'm pregnant). Hmmm... what else, hearts a good, God has been sifting through a lot but it is only making me stronger and causing me to Trust Him and love Him even more. So that's the quick version of what is going on and here's some pics, was trying to post more but having issues, oh well her ya go!

Say Momma

Here's Esther after her bath, she was saying Momma until I started recording. As you can hear in the back the kids are still taking there bath while Daddy is making music!

Hello again!

The Lord has been providing so much for us! Since we moved here we've had our fridge and cupboards full which has been such a major blessing. I've been wanting some things for our kitchen like matching plates and some extra utensils and the Lord provided that this last month, this sounds little but this was huge to me and really made my heart happy! We are learning "the big system" as we call it. Coming from a small House of Prayer to a big House of Prayer has been an adjustment and it has taken some time to learn how they do things here but we are getting use to it and we are enjoying it! Tom is working in the media department now. He is really liking this, he works 36 hours there and then 12 hours he is praying in the prayer room. He also has been waking up early in the mornings to pray before he goes to work in the Media Department. I have secretly peeked in on him a couple times and I love seeing my Hubby get in the word, praying and being an excellent one! Since I see him praying at home and not only at the prayer room it provokes me to have my quiet time with the Lord also. I've been really enjoying sitting in silence before the Lord, this has been keeping my heart alive these days! I meet with a group once a week and we pray/sit in silence for an hour together and it is my favorite day of the week. I also have been meeting with other Mom's once a week which is another one of my favorite times. We encourage one another, talk and laugh and it is so good for my heart! Tom has been staying home with the children so that I can attend some of the nightly services as well as be in the prayer room which has been very refreshing. So there's our quick update, have to get back to the little ones! Here's some pics for you. Bless you all ~Hilary
